“The Great Bargain” or “Lessons from MOCCA”
About DS #1776- Big Johnny Allison screams FREEEEDOM!!!! at the top of his lungs every time he visits America, so this comic goes out to him. I’m glad I hit 1776 in june instead of July, as that would be too freaky. (Like when Mr. Rosenberg hit 2000 comics on his 30th birthday) I drew this one at 1AM after getting back from the best comic show ever to grace the isle of Man-Hattan.
I think the best way to sum up the MOCCA show this weekend is a bulleted list.
Things I knew but was reminded of:
I have cool readers
They come in all shapes, sizes and genders unlike the stereotypical comic fanboy
These readers still enjoy LOLBOTS.
I miss my friends in Portland, OR.
Matt Madden is a smart dude.
I can eat a pound of rice pudding and be hungry again in 20 minutes.
Things I didn’t know:
Randall from XKCD is in fact real. He also travels with someone I can only describe as an aide-de-camp.
I can survive 2 days in NYC without a Crif Dog. (I seem to only eat hot dogs in New York and wound up having about 5)
Moustache rides cost 25 cents in space
There are exactly two motion pictures I plan to see in the next five years: Iron Man and Scott Pilgrim.
Back to work. I need to get about ten hundred things done this week!

Cool comics beget cool readers. It was awesome meeting you at MoCCA, you’re as snappy and clever in real life as your writing is (or you were just on the ball that day). Keep an eye on your mail for that paternity lawsuit.

It was amazing to finally meet you at MoCCA! This was my first con ever, and meeting one of my fave artists def made it worth it.
