I was visiting with a class of sixth graders at the Francis Bean Cobain Middle School in South Bend, Idaho in early July. Much to my surprise and dismay, not a single student was present in class when the home room bell rang. Education is vital to our nation's well-being! How can such a flagrant disrespect for learning have occured in this nation which once brimming with scientists, writers and hog farmers?
As your President, I propose not only more funding for education; I propose a whole new system of education. I call this system "No Child Without a Boot Disk". My plan would ask Congress for 300 million dollars to retrofit all school-aged hu-man children with re-writeable CD drives and USB ports for educational Flash drives. My opponents simply wish to buy computers for these students, foolishly believing that is enough to help them learn. I say that our schools deserve the best! Children should not just be able to use computers, they should be brutally and irreversibly connected to them!
